"What it takes to sit down before a man, listen to talk, look into his eyes ... and then let him splash the brain on the wallpaper?
None.
And the more you do, the easier it becomes.
"Still have not found a place?"
The voice on the phone seemed bored, but I felt little worms squirming from its edges. Impatience? Nervousness? I had no way of knowing.
"No" I told him. "And if I find one within a couple of minutes, turn over to the next."
"Hey, man, fuck, get it? There will be no next time. "
"How do you prefer."
"You're a tough guy, eh? I see ... this is not your son. "
"It's not even your" I said, flatly and not at all threatening, trying to convey my cool. "We are two professionals. So behave as such, okay? E 'exchange, and you know how they work exchanges. Just find a safe parking, as agreed. We meet, we conclude the deal and everyone will come paid.
"If you can not find a place soon, will not pay anyone."
"I'll call you" I said and hung up. "

I can not classify this book than the first two I read Vachss. It will be a repetition of the plot, this frantic search for reporting child abuse, trace the culprits at all costs, I think an obsession, as if continuing to keep an open nerve, serves to keep vigilant. Vachss involving all players as if they were inattentive parents and puts its finger on the Internet and the use made of it. It is yet another punch in the stomach that you receive. E 'right to seek revenge? And we are sure we will be raised only revenge of such brutality? It seems that the message that, through the mythical character of Burke, the writer meant to convey. Maybe not, but surely the rage subsides and fades .. even if it remains a bitter taste.
